» Catwalk confusion

Sandra Omo finds the chaos backstage leads to confusion

026_LS363_Model_city__1.jpgMy countdown to the biggest fashion show I have been booked for so far this year has begun. In exactly ten days, I and other models, will walk down the runway for celebrity designers in order to raise funds for a charity dedicated to the welfare of women worldwide. I must confess I was a little bit over excited when I received the call notifying me I had been booked, without an audition, for this show. I was even starstruck when my booker began to mention the names of the designers. In my childish overjoyfulness, I asked if I could steal some of the clothes. My booker, knowing how funny I can be at times, only laughed and said I could not be serious and asked what kind of person asks permission before stealing. Well, I explained to him that because I had asked permission it would not be ‘stealing‘ but rather, ‘taking’. We both laughed.

“Stuff is often misplaced, unplaced, forgotten, taken”

I remember watching an episode from an old season of America’s Next Top Model. There was this girl that wore a piece of jewellery she got from a fashion show she did the previous day to the judging room.

» Jordan hitting a high

Jordan‘s jetting off, Zoe‘s supporting the doggies right to roam and top chef Aldo‘s in town

011_LS363_celebcity-4_1.jpgOur very own pin-up girl Jordan is really hitting a high – this time in her own private jet. The Brighton born 29-year-old is apparently in the process of buying a Hawker 900 for £4.5million. The model also plans to have the whole thing painted pink with a matching pink interior. Jordan – who now has a home in Cyprus with hubby Peter Andre – has decided to splash out on the jet when she realised that flights for the couple, their three children and nannies would cost more than £150,000 this year.

To recoup some of the huge price, Katie will hire out the plane. She could even fly it and she is already learning how to fly a helicopter. Her fly-on-the-wall show Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter starts on 27 March at 9pm on ITV2.

» Dani’s diary

Dani gets all retrospective and sentimental about her writing in this here column for all you good people

Right, I’m going to set myself a challenge. That challenge is to not speak about being scared of being a grown-up for one whole column (apart from that very first bit obviously!).

Although, I am actually being quite grown-up about things at the moment. I am really trying to save money (apart from the buying of shoes which doesn’t count as it is an addiction!).

It is weird writing this every week, because it isn’t necessarily like having a sit down and a chin wag with a good mate, but it isn’t exactly like talking to myself either.

» Comedian’s clothes

Victoria Nangle understands why comics rarely change their appearance

There is a certain consistency of look for comics as they go through the
year. Or so I have found. None of this changing hair colour from week to week, experimenting with styles to be seen in a tweed three-piece one moment and spray-painted punk leather the next, neatly accompanied by the best mohawk in town. No, this inconsistency of appearance is not to be found treading the boards of comedy clubs the length and breadth of the country. Funnily enough, I have a theory why.

“If you’ve changed your appearance too much you may feel as if you’ve got to start all over again“

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
