The Albion reveal next year’s bargain season ticket deals

021_LS364_sport_3.jpgIn a bid to attract more young support to Withdean Brighton & Hove Albion has slashed season ticket prices for fans aged under-21 while also freezing all adult prices for next season; and a new special two year ticket means supporters can see the Albion through the final Withdean years and save even more.

Next season, any fan under 21 can purchase a season ticket in the south or east stands from just £120; for under-16s the price falls further, from just £100; while under-10s can still get season tickets for less than £1 per match. Family season tickets (one adult and one child) in the Legal & General Family Stand remain tremendous value. An inflationbusting price freeze on adult tickets means prices are as low as they were for the 2002/03 season.

Albion chairman Dick Knight said, “The board has set these new prices after careful consideration of the supporters‘ perspective in the drawn out Withdean/Falmer saga. Our fans under 21 are those who have suffered the most since we left the Goldstone. Many have grown up unable to watch the Albion regularly because of the limitations at Withdean – but these new prices will give them the opportunity to do just that from next season and on into the new stadium.

» Scouting for Girls interview

To say it’s been a good year for Harrow indie-pop kids Scouting for Girls is an understatement. Another myspace success, a huge online following led to being signed to Epic in February last year. When their single ‘She’s So Lovely‘ was released, it lingered in the UK singles top ten for ten weeks, garnering airplay seemingly everywhere, while their eponymous debut long-player hit the number one spot in the album charts. The band, vocalist Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse on bass and Pete Ellard on drums, have recently toured Ireland, Japan and are even to play Texas industry showcase South By Southwest before heading out on a mostly sold-out UK tour.

Sandra Omo steps out for international stardom

026_LS364_Model_city__1.jpgEntering competitions, be it modelling competitions or beauty pageants, is the best way for a model to build up confidence, and when it comes to learning how to handle rejections, believe me, there is no quicker way. There is this pageant I have always wanted to compete in, however, distance, studies and my modelling career have prevented me all these years. Recently, I made up my mind to do all in my power to have the opportunity to compete in this pageant. As a result, I have been making unending phone calls and sending applications. In addition, if this wasn’t enough, I was going to fly to Africa just to attend the audition. Now I will tell you the pageant I am referring to.

“My heart was beating so hard that I thought the judges could hear it”

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
