I am backstage at a fashion show right now, as I write this column and it’s bizarre – that’s the only word that can describe the rowdiness and haste right here. I am in-line for my make-up and it will take a while before it reaches my turn.

PG Wodehouse’s classic character, Jeeves, returns in a new production of Come On, Jeeves at the Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne from 14–19 July. Victor Spinetti and well-loved British star Anita Harris lead the cast in this spiffing tale.
Forgive me for not getting here sooner. I know it’s been open for a year now but for some reason I have failed to run it over my gums and see if my palate salutes it. I am, of course, talking about The Foragers in darkest Hove. I seem to have had a bit of a blind spot, maybe a few people swayed me early on and since then I have been remiss in my actions. I apologise, I am here now, actually typing this as I eat and I have to say that I am already more than impressed.
