» Rock the night

The Sunshine Bores the Daylight Out of Me is an exhibition of largely unseen rock images taken by photographer Justin Thomas.

Images of The Stones, The Clash, Dylan, Marley, The Specials and James Brown are among those that were lying around in boxes in his Brixton flat until Sydney Street Gallery owner Claudine Sinnett persuaded him to exhibit some of them at her recently opened gallery in Brighton.

This exhibition will be the first of several to be rolled out over the next couple of years. Images will be available to buy as limited edition runs of 50.

» Dani’s Diary

Dani is fed up of not being catered for when clothes shopping on the high street

I am at home with the flu. Doing what people with the flu do best, which is watching daytime TV. During my morning chat show viewing an advert pops on for Marisota. A catalogue just for women who find it difficult to find clothes and shoes to fit. During the advert the narrator claims that: “Half the women we asked claimed they could not find clothes to fit correctly. Half the women we asked said they cannot find shoes wide enough. Sally was one of the women we asked and she said she could not find trousers long enough.” Or something along those lines.

Where did they find these women? How many women did they actually survey? I have a sneaking suspicion they only asked women who may already answer the questions the way they want.

“The only hope I had was the Kate Moss collection at Topshop – which I have tried on and been disappointed with”

Gown and Out is the title of the new, one man, ‘15 woman’ show coming to the The Old Market this November.

Gown and out

This is the only place you can see icons Cher, Diana Dors, Joan Collins, Amy Winehouse, Tina Turner and Her Majesty The Queen together in one show as Ceri Dupree delivers impressive vocal impersonations and hilarious stand-up.

He will dress in thousands of pounds worth of costumes, bringing a touch of Las Vegas to the UK.

» Model’s photos being used without permission

Sandra Omo is concerned about models’ photos being used without them knowing

I am beginning to wonder the possibility of a model fronting the cover of a magazine without even knowing it. For sure if it’s a well known magazine, there is no way the model wouldn’t know, and the magazine itself wouldn’t make such a blunder knowing how much it will cost them if the model in question sues.

Sandra Omo

Now that brings me to the question of small magazines in other parts of the world, that the model or anyone that knows them will never get to see – is it possible? The answer is a big ‘yes’.

“There my photo was, fully blown up for the mag’s special fashion week introductory edition”

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
