I had been pretty impressed on my first few visits and felt they deserved a second look. So, slightly damp from a weekend under canvas, I persuaded M&J to join me there.

Food at the Half Moon

And how it had rained, we had thunder and lightening, showers, squalls and downright downpours. But at Plumpton the sun was shining and the terrace steaming. Roy Hutchins and Tony Haase (aka Roy & Tony’s Club) talk to Latest Seven

Earlier this year, Roy Hutchins and Tony Haase (aka Roy & Tony’s Club) performed a season of six fortnightly comedy theatre music shows at the Open House, offering completely new material each time.

Roy Hutchins and Tony Haase

The Latest’s very own critic Candy McNamara wrote: “A properly intimate cosy club… with Hutchins as the pedantic slightly uptight foil to Haase’s exuberantly manic flights of fancy, in a sort of updated Pete and Pete, where they grow up and become self aware.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
