It’s the most wonderful time of the year… or so the song goes. As the festive parties begin and decorations adorn shop fronts and homes, the darker side of winter can hide behind all the cheer.
It’s a stressful time for those with families, as the prospect of sharing Christmas and whose house to visit first can cause upset. For those without family, Christmas can also be a lonely time.
Add Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) to the mix and you may just feel like hibernating until spring. Unfortunately, that’s not an option so here’s some tips for beating the winter blues.
The cold weather can be harsh on our skin. Bracing winds to indoors central heating affects us, especially our faces, as we greet the elements head on. In the summer we protect our skin with SPF. The winter can be more of a challenge.
I met Sandie Stockham, an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner at Brighton Laser Clinic to find ways to rejuvenate and rescue the skin from environmental damage, particularly from the winter weather. The result? Soft, supple and fresh faced.
Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton.
