Brighton Art Fair, the south coast’s largest visual art exhibition, is back for 2011!

“Beautiful art and very inspiring” … “Very high standard of work. Will be back” … “Enchantingly refreshing” … “We should have known about this years ago!”… “Brilliant – well worth a visit”

The acclaimed Brighton Art Fair, sponsored by Elle Decoration, is back this autumn to the beautiful Regency Corn Exchange with the most exciting mix of artists yet. With record numbers of artists applying, four for every one place, the selection process has been very difficult and rigorous.

Brighton Art Fair showcases over 120 contemporary artists and attracts a capacity audience of over 5,000 visitors. The fair has built a strong reputation for exhibiting exceptional quality artwork in a welcoming, friendly and relaxed environment.

Brighton Art Fair is the largest visual art exhibition on the south coast with year on year sales growth exceeding expectations. Over half a million pounds worth of art was sold in 2010, including the commissioning work which inevitably arises from such events.

The selection panel have organised a stunning exhibition. Painters, printmakers, ceramicists, photographers and sculptors will be exhibiting with the most original and eclectic work across as wide a variety of methods and subjects as possible.

Artists themselves sell their work direct to the public, bringing a personal feel to viewing and to the buying process. Visitors enjoy meeting the artists and learning about their creative inspirations, techniques and future projects.

Arthouse Meath will be joining the Fair again this year with designs celebrating the creativity and talent of adults living with learning difficulties and severe epilepsy. All of their profits go back to the Meath Epilepsy Trust.

Visitors will fall in love with their stationery and kitchenware items – perfect for the home, office and – if you can bear to part with them – as presents. A café, serving delicious light meals, snacks and cake, provides a place to take refreshment and contemplate potential purchases.

Brighton Art Fair, 22–25 September, Corn Exchange, Brighton Dome, Friday 11am–7.30pm, Saturday 10am–6pm, Sunday 10am–5pm, £6 (children under 14 free). Entrance includes an exhibitor catalogue and a cotton goody bag (subject to availability), www.brightonartfair.co.uk

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
