West Sussex County Youth Theatre and OnO Theatre Company present Antigone

It’s the East End of ’50s London. The dance hall is buzzing with jive, sharp suits and flowing frocks. The fashion for witty names that were ‘No Name’ always left me somewhat cold. Too clever by half I reckon and pretty irritating too. How often did that lack of a proper name lead to confusion? So when the rather nice premises on the corner of The New Steine and St James’s Street, formerly with no name, were given a bit of a spruce up, I was delighted to see there was also a name, and a nice name too.

I thought I’d like to do something that I’d want to watch really, and I’ve never been anywhere where if I like to hate the show I can throw stones at the performer afterwards so I thought I’d give them that option. So if for nothing else, come and throw stones at me – but don’t bring your own. Stones are provided.
VN: Even though we have lots of stones on the beach… Read the rest of this article »
