Roy Haynes
85-year-old US drum legend Roy Haynes has been at the forefront of jazz for seven decades. In that time he has played with a veritable who’s who including Lester Young, Sarah Vaughan, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Pat Metheny and Chick Corea, to name just a few. A highly expressive sticksman, he heads The Roy Haynes Fountain Of Youth Band with Martin Bejerano (piano), Jaleel Shaw (sax), and David Wong (bass).

Brighton Theatre return to the Fringe with I Am A Warehouse, an explosive new work set in Gaza and staged at Newhaven Fort

In 2009, Brighton Theatre staged a play, The First Domino, that blew audiences away. Taking a subject as emotive as the London bombing of the Admiral Duncan, a gay pub in Soho, was never going to provide a comfortable theatrical ride. » Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
