» BRITA expedition

It’s your last chance to sign up for BRITA water’s trailblazing expedition to Nepal. Members of the public are urged to sign up for this trip of a lifetime which also serves the poorer communities of Nepal.

BRITA and expedition volunteers will build a well and a water tank, providing a safe and constant supply of clean drinking water and sanitation to a small community in Nepal. The two-week trip is set to take place around 26 September. 12 days of hands-on experience aims to challenge the volunteers and help raise awareness about water issues in Nepal. The project will be undertaken where many communities have to travel long distances to access clean water and less than half the population has access to sanitation.
BRITA will contribute towards the cost of half of the trip, with the other half raised through fundraising initiatives with the help of Greenforce. To volunteer, you must be aged 18 or over; be able to take two weeks holiday between 26 September and 9 October 2010, and have a generally good level of health and fitness.

Log onto www.facebook.com/BRITA?expedition and let them know why you should be chosen for the expedition. But hurry, you only have until the start of June to apply.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
