Kerry Katona moves to Sussex mansion, Dean Lennox Kelly bags fab Beatles role and Gary Moore does a guest turn at the Old Market

Kerry’s clean break

Guess who I saw strolling round a beautifully sunny Brighton this week – the newly re-invented, newly single Kerry Katona. Looking very slim and tanned, the mother of four was spending some quality time and doing some furniture shopping with two of her daughters, Molly, eight, and seven-year-old Lilly-Sue.

The 29 year old is now a Sussex resident, having just moved into a lovely new countryside mansion. Let’s hope the move is a good one for her – it hasn’t gone down well with her less than chirpy ex-husband Mark Croft, who is reportedly unhappy with the four-hour drive he now faces when visiting their two children. Brighton Marathon tests our celebs, Supergrass bow out and Gwyneth Paltrow is on my flight!

Run, Fatboy, run!

At the time of writing this, an array of local celebrities were gearing up to take part in Sunday’s Brighton Marathon, including the Aussie-based chairman of Brighton Football Club, Tony Bloom (who also happens to be one of the world’s most respected poker players); and Danny Mills, the former Norwich, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Man City and England right back, who was planning to complete the race in a wheelchair to highlight his campaign to raise funds for ASBAH (the Association for Spina Bifida And Hydrocephalus). And let’s not forget Brighton’s favourite superstar DJ, Fatboy Slim (pictured during training), who was running for Coaching For Hope. Handily Simon Pegg’s 2007 comedy, Run, Fatboy, Run was on Channel 4 on Saturday to give him some last minute inspiration! Read the rest of this article »

Katie Price gets a roasting from OAP and Norman Cook unveils kooky new concept album

Katie’s carpark row

It has been quite a dramatic week for Katie Price – now Mrs Reid. Not only has she had to contend with a barrage of ‘Marriage in crisis’ tabloid headlines but also being verbally abused by an OAP in Brighton.

Over the Easter weekend, what set out to be a happy family shopping trip in Brighton’s Goldstone Retail Park turned out to be a complete nightmare for the glamour girl. Read the rest of this article »

Suzi Perry’s busy week, budding Brighton designer’s This Morning success, and Preston hits the decks

We had my old pal TV presenter Suzi Perry running around last week. Last Friday she presented an award at the BAFTA gaming awards in Park Lane, to the crème de la crème of the gaming world, and even Ant and Dec! Suzi presented the “Best Handheld” award – see our exclusive pic courtesy of those lovely fellows at BAFTA. Read the rest of this article »

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk

We love nothing better than browsing and buying arts and crafts, and there is so much going on throughout May that we’ve made it easier by bringing the Artists Open Houses to you! We have 11 special programmes, featuring artists in their own houses. So here’s your chance to go ‘through the keyhole’ so to speak as we visit the artists in their own environment.
