» Cover Feature: Rock & Roller

American-style restaurant Rock & Roller is fast becoming the place to be for quality burgers & a great game of pool

Brighton’s varied culinary landscape is famous country-wide, but it was incomplete before Rock & Roller arrived earlier this year, taking Brighton’s bar and restaurant scene by storm with a healthy injection of some much-needed American spirit. A delicious menu featuring locally-smoked ribs, generous homemade burgers, sizzling steaks and great beers, plus an upper floor dedicated to playing pool have quickly won Rock & Roller an army of fans.

» Feature: Brighton Pride

Bill Smith, MD of Latest Magazines, shares his ideas on making Brighton Pride the biggest festival of its kind

I’m a straight guy and I’m proud of Pride. In the last decade Pride has become one of the biggest festivals in the UK. I applaud the fact that it champions human rights, and I am proud that Brighton, which has always been an island of sanity for gay rights, has developed this major festival.

It’s not generally known but as many people come here for the Pride weekend as go to Glastonbury. The big difference? The BBC sends 400 journalists to Glastonbury and 10 to Brighton Pride. » Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
