» Cover Feature: Tramp Vintage Clothing

All the ladies (and generous gents) will love new vintage boutique Tramp

Tramp

Stunning dresses line the rails and portraits of famous ‘tramps’ such as Elizabeth Taylor and Marlene Dietrich gaze down in approval from oyster pink walls – welcome to Tramp, Brighton’s new vintage clothing boutique.

Now, you may be wondering why our city needs another vintage shop, but Tramp is a little different. While most vintage stores are so crammed with bulk-ordered items your grandma threw out last year (yes, there are warehouses you can order, say, 50 ‘vintage’ leggings from), Tramp is pleasingly uncluttered. It’s easy to sift through the rails, and you don’t have to waste hours rummaging in bargain barrels.
Each piece is carefully hand-picked and sourced by owner Michelle Terras and manager Francesca Pendlebury, then attentively cleaned and altered to bring it in line with current trends without losing that vintage appeal.

Yes, it’s true: they’re back, they’re bad, and they’re hungry.?Well, they’re not so bad really. In truth, they do rather a fine job of this kid’s food review section year on year, and it gives both my feet and my waistband a bit of a rest too.

Over the years this has become one of our most popular annual features and it always surprises us. For starters – forgive the pun – very few kids are interested these days in children’s menus. That said, there are one or two places acknowledging this and coming up with kids’ menus that are both approachable and inspired – as opposed to your typical sausage, fish finger and beans route. » Cover feature: Rock ‘n’ Roller

Introducing Rock ‘n’ Roller, Brighton’s first American restaurant & pool bar

Brighton is known for its individuality. Therefore, it only seemed right that the first restaurant/pool bar to call Sussex home should open in the city. In the two months since Rock & Roller exploded onto the scene, it’s quickly won an army of loyal fans, livening up Western Road with its delicious mix of American-inspired food, great beers, fine wines and spirits, and not forgetting fantastic cocktails.

Latest TV

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
