» Naked Eye Gallery: Bare Vision

Dion Salvador Lloyd shows his work at David Donno’s Naked Eye Gallery

On a bright, but chill spring afternoon I drive to Hove to meet gallery owner David Donno at artist Dion Salvador Lloyd’s studio. The plan is that we will look at some work, both finished and in progress, prior to Dion’s one-man show at David’s Naked Eye Gallery in Hove during the Brighton Festival.

» Forget Me Not at Brighton Festival Fringe

Sharon Elizabeth talks about her fringe show Forget Me Not at the Parlure Spiegeltent

People think the 60s were wild but really the 20s blew the 60s out of the window. Many Victorian ways and values were challenged and dropped by the youth of the day. For women it was an especially liberating time. Flappers were really partying for the sake of it. Read the rest of this article »

» The Adonis Cabaret

» Interview with Gina Yashere

Victoria Nangle talks with the fantastic Brit comic taking the US by storm – Gina Yashere

What’s your current show like?
It‘s basically lots of stand-up. There‘s not really much else to it. It‘s me, Gina Yashere, doing what she‘s known for best. Which is jokes, observational stand-up, talking about myself. Obviously I‘ll be talking a little bit about the fact I‘ve lost five stone in weight because everybody wants to know how I did it, so there‘ll be a little bit of that in there. Yeah. Basically what I do.

Congratulations.
Why thank you. (laughs) Read the rest of this article »

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
