» Review: Daniela Lehner
Walking out in a huge evening gown set a serious tone that this fine mezzo was soon to dispel. She may have looked grand but she was the most winning of performers, wooing and flirting with the audience, seducing us with both brilliant singing and witty banter throughout. The programme, much of which was new to most of the audience, was fun but challenging. Had she been the sober soprano the dress suggested it might have been a rather dry event, but with her charm and engaging manner she made friends of us all. There is little doubt that most of us left remembering her name and vowing to look out for her as her star ascends.
