» Review: The Noise Next Door – All-Star Comedy Lock-In
The five Noise boys’ first ‘lock-in’ served up a diverse blend of improv, music and rather filthy mayhem. The hosts and their house band sat comfortably onstage throughout the generous slots given to guest performers Nathan Caton and Jay Foreman. Caton’s slice-of-life stand-up peaked with his story of swapping ‘your mum’ insults with 9-year-olds, while Foreman sang crafty comic songs that mixed cruel self-criticism with some genuine Beatles love. Everyone mucked-in for a messy quiz show face-off, until an unlucky crowd member was pulled onstage and serenaded by an awkwardly brilliant boy-band finale. Call BBC3 – this show’s ready to go.
