Fey and Poehler have been getting a fair bit of press recently for their quirkyfemale credentials but this film does away with the gender debate and proves a funny and cute if notperfect comedic romp.

Wall-E (U)

Director: Andrew Stanton
Wall-E

Pixar blitz the opposition in this animated masterpiece. The story follows itty-bitty robot Wall-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) who discovers a new purpose in life when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE.
7 Selects
With a host of superbly imagined characters and a lead character who utters no more than three words throughout, this is classic Pixar tomfoolery. Chuck in a whole bucket of cuddles, a refreshing dose of surreal humour, a touching environmental message and a race across space and you have pure, unadulterated cinematic pleasure.

» Kung Fu Panda

Cert: PG – Director: Mark Osborne and John Stevenson

This latest effort from super studio Dreamworks is a CG-animated comedy about a lazy, irreverent slacker panda called Po, who must become a kung fu master in order to save his furry friends from the villainous snow leopard, Tai Lung. What it lacks in detail it makes up for in humorous sight gags, gleeful abandon and Jackie Chan.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
