How does your garden grow?

Want to grow your own vegetables but lack the garden space in the city? Vertigro is the solution. This new vertical allotment (it launched last weekend!) lets you grow what you need, it’s perfect if space is an issue, and it’s attractive to look at too. Vertigro was formed by Brighton-based Claude Lester in response to her own gardening needs. “When I was diagnosed with ME/CFS, I had to stop work, so I decided to move to Brighton from London – it was the best decision I ever made,” she says. “Brighton is a smaller, friendlier and very holistic city. In my new home, I have a small roof terrace, and as I was trying to eat more healthily and organically, I started growing my own vegetables in containers. I rapidly ran out of space and, inspired by the green wall systems I’d seen, I ended up designing Vertigro.”
Vertigro will be exhibited at the Edible Garden Exhibition at Stoneleigh Park on 18 March 2011. www.vertigro.co.uk

Rather than getting fitter, I ended up sitting around, feeling guilty and reaching for just one more slice of cake to make me feel better.

» Health: Something to smile about – cosmetic dentistry

Zara Baker looks at ways cosmetic dentistry can transform lives & smiles

A great smile is strived for and a lot easier to achieve thanks to advances in cosmetic dentistry. One of our first attractions to someone is a feature like their smile and while Hollywood films stereotype the British as having bad teeth – Austin Powers anyone? – the Hollywood 100KW brilliant white smile has crossed the pond and it seems there’s no excuse for a bad smile (except money, perhaps?). We may not have the funds of Simon Cowell or the nation’s favourite sweetheart Cheryl Cole, but with dentists offering finance options and interest-free packages, it’s worth looking into if you seek the perfect smile.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
