Will Harris ticks off going to church on his list of challenges in 2009

Dark clouds are churning in the sky as I hover just outside the threshold of a building in Soho, my collar turned up against the rain. Two days ago, the Met Office issued a severe weather warning and for once they appear to have got it right, at least judging by the storm ripping through the trees in the churchyard and creeping in through a hole in my shoe. The weathermen, in all their infinite wisdom, have put this sudden onslaught down to a band of low pressure sweeping in from the Atlantic. I, in my one wet sock, have put it down to God.

Will Harris is starting to feel the cold hand of regret as reality bites

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Over the course of a year I would attempt thirty challenges, each successive brush with the unknown furthering my life skills until I’d emerge into 2010 as some sort of spiritually enlightened supreme being, on horseback, speaking fluent Spanish and strumming nonchalantly on a banjo.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
