Billie Piper blushes over TV sex-scenes, Davina McCall rations kids’ TV and Jamie Oliver drops in

Call Girl’s not for ‘family’ viewing
Sussex-based actress and ex-star of Dr Who, Billie Piper, says she can’t watch raunchy love scenes from her hit show, Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, with her husband of two years, Laurence Fox. In a recent interview, the 27-year-old mother of one said, “I don’t stop him, but we don’t watch it together – that would just be weird. I wouldn’t watch it with my dad or brother, either. I have selective memory loss when it’s on.”
Billie’s character, Belle de Jour, has taken part in scenes of “sploshing” (the act of having sex with food), and pretended to be a farmyard animal while filming selected sexy scenes.
She has also admitted her fears about what her 15-month-old son Winston will think of her when he is older, saying, “I just hope I raise my son as someone who’s really open-minded. And forgiving. ‘Forgive me son, for I have sinned.’”
Secret Diary Of A Call Girl will return to our screens in early 2010.

Khan comes clean
We spotted songstress Natasha Khan of Bat For Lashes outside the Argos store in Western Road during the grip of the big freeze. The two-times Mercury Music Prize nominee was seen clutching a broom and a plethora of cleaning products – maybe her new year’s resolution was to have a good old clearout!
Davina’s tv ban
Davina McCall, who now lives in rural West Sussex, has been voicing some quite outspoken views of late. Davina, who has fronted some of the most addictive reality TV shows of the past decade, has now declared that she is extremely concerned about kids watching too much telly.

The presenter, currently on our screens for the final Celebrity Big Brother and with Sky 1’s talent show, Got To Dance, has revealed that she restricts her own kids’ viewing time to a maximum of one hour and fifteen minutes per day.
“I only let them watch 15 minutes in the morning, and an hour after dinner,” said McCall, who has three children, Holly, eight, six-year-old Tilly and Chester, three. “If I’m honest, I feel bad about that hour. It’s not good for kids to watch telly.
It definitely affects their behaviour.”
Big Brother was among programmes recently blamed by teachers for causing problem behaviour in schools. Two-thirds of nearly 800 staff surveyed last year by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers said Big Brother had caused the most bad behaviour among pupils.
