Zoe and Norm celebrate their daughter’s birth, Gok Wan gets spoilt and La Roux takes mum shopping

N&Z-with-baby

You’ve come a long way, baby

Huge congratulations go to Zoe Ball and Norman Cook on the birth of little Nelly May Lois Cook, a baby sister for their son Woody, who is nine. The couple were absolutely beaming when they showed off their new arrival on leaving London’s Portland Hospital last weekend.

Zoe, 39, gave birth by caesarean section, and three days later she and DJ Norman, 46, posed for the press and photographers outside the private hospital. I texted Norman last week to send my congratulations, and he replied that he was, “absolutely over the moon”. Ahhh! No doubt Zoe will be back in her size 10 jeans soon enough – you never know, she might be joining hubby Norm in his training for the inaugural Brighton Marathon. Norm, who has committed to take part, will be running alongside 10,000 others in the 26 mile run, which starts in Preston Park on 18 April. Rest assured, we’ll be bringing you regular updates on other celebs who will be taking part in Brighton Marathon.

Coogan caught out

Steve-Coogan-2
Hove-based actor Steve Coogan has revealed his all time most embarrassing moment. It took place in an HMV Store (though whether or not it was the Churchill Square branch was not disclosed). Steve was spotted by a shopper rooting through the DVD section under his own name. Thumbing through the Alan Partridge box sets is never the coolest thing to be doing!

Gok’s jewellery fix

TV fashion fixer Gok Wan got a lovely surprise from his partner recently – a brand spanking new piece of jewellery from bespoke Brighton designer, Jeremy Hoye. The silver diagonal-cut ring was from the jeweller’s Luna collection.

Spotted!

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
