The hunt is on for budding young stars

Christmas may seem some way away, but not if you’re in the panto business. Robinsons has already launched their 2010 Search For A Star quest.

They are looking for local children aged between six and sixteen who would love to appear in panto. Youngsters are encouraged to register for auditions online (www.robinsonssearchforastar.com) to be in with a chance of winning one of the 20 to 30 roles up for grabs in the local production of Cinderella, The New Fairytale Musical, which comes to the Theatre Royal in December.

Brighton auditions take place at the Theatre Royal on Saturday 18 September between 9am and 1pm. Be sure to sign up early as there are only 400 places available, and registration closes as soon as that number is hit.

Brighton is one of 12 cities that will see a glittering cast in a First Family Entertainment production this Christmas. Robinsons is offering local children the chance to star alongside a professional cast in a magical musical tradition.

So, if you’re a stage-struck kid or a pushy stage mum, then get moving and get registered for this fantastic opportunity.

Cinderella, The New Fairytale Musical is at the Theatre Royal Brighton, 17 December 2010–16 January 2011.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk

AOH Special: It’s Festival time in Brighton & Hove, which means the Artists Open Houses have opened their doors for another year! Maps of all the trails can be picked up across the city. We love nothing better than browsing and buying arts and crafts, and there is so much going on throughout May that we’ve made it easier by bringing the Artists Open Houses to you! We have 11 special programmes, featuring artists in their own houses. So here’s your chance to go ‘through the keyhole’ so to speak as we visit the artists in their own environment.
