» Dani’s Diary

Dani lets her sister write her column, as Francesca prepares to leave Brighton and start university

Well the pressure is on now… Not only because I have to write in the shadow of Dani, but also because I am going to find out how worth two years of college is and whether or not I will be off to Greenwich University this September. Having been given a little voice to air my views I have become overwhelmed my how much I need to say to make all right with the world.

“It seems that we work too hard for so little appreciation, considering we are the future”

Firstly let me explain what it is like to take exams like GCSEs and A levels as it is a huge misconception that we get an easy ride in life. Not only are you learning to become an adult and accept responsibilities like relationships and part-time jobs, but we also have to juggle peer pressure, coursework, and exams, plus getting enough sleep to function the next day.

So I believe we are entitled to a little fun, thanks. However this comes at a price because anybody over the age of thirty instantly forgets what it was like to be a young adult (I hate this term but it seems appropriate) and it seems that they are programmed to be under the impression that exam answers are written on the same sheet as the questions; that we all wear hoodies and binge drink every other day; or are at the clinic for treatment of an STI with our babies in tow.

It seems that we work too hard for so little appreciation, considering we are the future, I just hope when I have children I will take the time to understand and respect them.

“Charity begins at home“ is a phrase which will become one of my favourites considering I am to venture off the the student-land of university and I have to say that it’s been very nice to be a little spoilt byfamily, especially Danielle, who are buying me all the essentials I may need, but a little part of me can’t help thinking if it is only because they are getting a little too eager for me to move away!

Right then, looks like I’m out of a job!

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
