» Deadly Game and Private Lives on stage

Two great plays, one great cast at Worthing’s Connaught Theatre

From the producer of gripping thrillers Framed and Strangers on a Train and the sell-out productions of Bedroom Farce and Hobson’s Choice, in association with Worthing Theatres, comes a truly delicious summer treat.

Termed ‘Summer Playhouse’, and introducing Worthing Theatres’ new Autumn Drama Season, the programme opens with two sensational plays. The UK premiere of Deadly Game, an exciting new thriller by David Foley and a sparkling new production of Noel Coward’s classic comedy masterpiece Private Lives.

Deadly Game is a nerve-shredding, intricately plotted thriller, full of twists, turns and double crosses. Hidden agendas, devious plans and treachery of the highest degree combine in this exciting play. Tracing the tale of a society jeweller whose past makes an unprecedented reappearance in one dramatic turn, this play first premiered in the US where it was nominated for the prestigious Edgar Award, Deadly Game will have you riveted to your seat until the very end.

Private Lives, Noel Coward’s classic comedy of quicksilver sparring and rapier sharp wit is daringly hilarious and elegantly seductive. Two divorcees meet by chance in 1930, to see their passion reignited.

This Summer Playhouse shares a fantastic star cast across both plays. Steven Pinder and Kevin Pallister star in both Deadly Game and Private Lives and are best known for their long running roles in Brookside and Emmerdale respectively. In Deadly Game they are joined by Karen Drury, best know for her role as Steven’s long-suffering wife in Brookside. In Private Lives they are joined by established stage actress Georgina Sutton and newcomer Emily Pennant-Rae.

Deadly Game is written by David Foley, an up and coming American Playwright who has been hailed as ‘a rich new find’ by the New York Post. Different, but both truly remarkable, these two superb stage productions are played out with passion and keenness that will give you something to rave about this August!

Deadly Game is showing from Tuesday 12 to Saturday 16 August and Private Lives from Tuesday 19 to Saturday 23 August Box Office 01903 206 206 or visit www.worthingtheatres.co.uk

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
