Duke of York’s Picturehouse host a grand red carpet screening of new film Public Enemies

Gangster stories have always been a source for amazing films, from James Cagney in Angels with Dirty Faces to Robert De Niro in Goodfellas. Director Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) is the modern day master of the genre and he brings to life one of the most iconic bank robbers that ever lived: John Dillinger.

Played with the usual grace and flair he brings to the big screen, Johnny Depp is a sexy, dangerous thief who falls for Billie (Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard) whilst being pursued by FBI Agent Purvis (Christian Bale).

An epic story filled with action, romance and drama, Public Enemies opens at The Duke of York’s Picturehouse on Friday 3 July with a grand red-carpet premiere,
with fancy-dress competitions, prizes, performances and many other surprises.

In the tradition of their now legendary The Dark Knight premiere, the Duke of York’s will be going all out with a Hollywood-style celebration of the joy of going to the movies. So brush off your best gangster suit, your most glamorous flapper girl frock, adjust your hats and book your tickets now!

Experience this summer’s best blockbuster in the comfort of the Duke of York’s, with its fully licensed auditorium, famous homemade cake, selection of organic drinks and snacks, and award-winning customer service. Indulge yourself and book a sofa on their luxury balcony – the best seats in town!

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
