Enzo celebrates five years of hair and beauty excellence, giving their loyal clients old and new, an experience of international quality

When Enzo opened they invested a great deal of time, effort, money and research into creating a hair and beauty experience that was quite clearly a cut above. Without the backing of a national brand they were fully aware that their strengths would be individuality and quality of service. One of the many things that make Enzo unique is that they have become a Bumble and Bumble salon, offering the full range of Bumble as well as Matrix colour and products. To stay on top of the most current trends in hairdressing, the team regularly attend workshops at the Bumble and Bumble training academy in London. The look was equally important too, and the cool chic of their salon was a pleasant and soothing contrast to the chrome and polished interiors of some of their competition. Owner and managing director Bill Stewart brought a vast range of experience, much of it gained in his native USA, while business partner Carlo Torre invested in creating and establishing the brand. It was never their intention to take over the world, perhaps not even the city, but they did win a huge number of clients and they have become fiercely loyal to Enzo, enjoying the restrained sophistication of the service, the very personal attention to detail and the ever expanding range of service that are on offer.
I include myself in this number and over the years I have been indulged and pampered on a regular basis. A keen fan of manicures I find the Jessica system that they employ to be ideal. I leave with hands and nails that quite literally attract comments and praise. While flying to Amsterdam, one lady on disembarking turned to me and said ‘You have the most beautiful nails I have ever seen on a man.’ I had Jessica and Enzo to thank for that.
“Pampering is good for the soul but getting a tangible effect doubles that”
While Bill is in charge of hair on the upper floor, Chantelle Duke is now in charge of beauty therapies on the lower level and here she continues to operate using Guinot methods and products.
As a late convert to facials, I wish I had started younger, I have tried a surprisingly large number of products available and at a wide variety of prices. But it is Guinot that draws me back every time. If I sound like a facial freak then forgive me, but I swear by the spiritual lift that I feel after an hour at the hands of a competent beautician. I have tried a wide variety of their treatments too and all have had a great impact not only on my spirit but on my substance. Oh yes, pampering is certainly good for the soul but getting a tangible effect doubles that.
Recently I settled back for a Beauté Neuve facial treatment that involved a double peeling process. I have always been slightly wary of skin peeling having seen some scary pics on the world wide web, but I was reassured that the fruit acids used in the Guinot range would be gentle but effective.
After this particular treatment I not only felt good but my skin was visibly improved, not just when peering into my scary magnifying shaving mirror but while catching a glimpse in a shop window as I walked past. The gentle peel seemed to have taken away that wintery greyness that is so ageing, the tone was firmer too and there was a glow. I had hoped that I would feel good but I genuinely looked better too. Okay, it’s never going to make me younger, or handsome for that matter but it very successfully makes me look like a give damn about how I look.
And at the end of the day that is the secret about Enzo’s success, they really care about what they do, how they do it and the people that they do it for.
Last time I wrote about them I chose to interview two very loyal female clients who were more than happy to extol the virtues of a trip to see the team at Enzo. This time I am putting my own name behind the recommendation. I love the Enzo Experience, the relaxed and discreet atmosphere, the professional attitude and let’s not forget – the best cookies in Brighton. Congratulations for their success so far and best wishes for the next five years of excellence.
