» Film Highlight: Salt (12A)

Dir: Phillip Noyce

Angelina Jolie is back in action mode as super spy for the CIA – Evelyn Salt. When she’s called in to a routine interrogation, the Russian defector being questioned is adamant that a Russian spy is heading to New York to assassinate the US president. Initially his claims aren’t taken too seriously, but as he’s persistent the question arises as to whether he could be telling the truth. You’d think as a defector they’d give him a bit more credit, but suspicion dies hard. Oh, and he says the assassin’s name is Evelyn Salt. Whoops! Highly trained spy on the run follows, which means lots of exciting stunts, bangs and getaways from near misses as Ms Salt desperately tries to prove her innocence and discover some hidden truths about her own history. Also starring Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Showing at Odeon, Cineworld and Connaught

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
