Make health and wellbeing your main priority in 2010 with Lewes Wellbeing Fest

Demo
Now celebrating its fifth year, Lewes Wellbeing Fest returns to the Town Hall (Corn Exchange) and Assembly Rooms on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January. Make 2010 the year you put your health and wellbeing first with free talks and taster workshops from some of the UK’s leading practitioners, raising money for the Children With Cancer Fund.

Learn how to make easy, delicious raw food delights with food expert Theresa Webb; discover the hidden magic of Sussex with local writer and psychologist Philip Carr-Gomm; explore transformative sound and movement with DJ and Radio Presenter Joel Stewart, and much more.

Qualified therapists will be on hand to offer affordable taster treatments including acupuncture, bone health scanning and chiropractic advice. Inspirational art, books and organic fairtrade products will be available across the weekend, along with live music by Lewes band Kalamus.

Demos include the Alexander Technique, The Feldenkrais Method, fencing, karate, Pilates, Tai Chi and yoga. The Creative Children’s Area will keep kids entertained, and hunger will be kept at bay with the organic vegetarian and vegan café from Seasons of Lewes and raw food bar from Kitchen Buddy.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk

We love nothing better than browsing and buying arts and crafts, and there is so much going on throughout May that we’ve made it easier by bringing the Artists Open Houses to you! We have 11 special programmes, featuring artists in their own houses. So here’s your chance to go ‘through the keyhole’ so to speak as we visit the artists in their own environment.
