There’s an innovative method for cleaner teeth at Dental Health Spa
How long does your child spend brushing their teeth daily? Are they reaching all their teeth? Research shows over 40 percent of five-year-old children in the UK have experienced dental decay, an astonishingly high figure so early on in life.

Spa Kids is officially open at Dental Health Spa in Brighton, featuring a revolutionary interactive teeth cleaning system to promote better oral health for children.
Christina Chatfield, hygienist and owner of Dental Health Spa, launched Spa Kids to create a greater understanding of oral health. This is done through Oralinsights Intelligent Oral Cleaning system, exclusive in the UK to Dental Health Spa. In an era of interactive gaming, the system is designed to be a fun learning experience.
A portable unit lets the child reconstruct brushing their teeth, with the results appearing in real-time 3D on a computer screen. The total time spent brushing is calculated and hot spots of missed tooth surfaces are flagged up. A score is given, meaning children can improve on this with subsequent visits or even see if they can do better than siblings and friends. After the Oralinsights test, children will be taught techniques to improve their brushing.
This revolutionary technique reflects the ethos of Dental Health Spa: to focus on preventative rather than restorative dentistry.
Spa Kids has launched a comic for kids, so children learn more about hygiene and bacteria with the animated characters. Christina realises that by interacting more, children have a greater understanding of bacteria. When they understand something more, they want to keep their teeth clean, meaning they brush better.
The result is improved oral health with children well informed on the importance of keeping their teeth clean.
