» Preview: Orson & Valentine
A tale of twin brothers with very different upbringings

A puppet play and Brighton Festival Fringe Event by Daisy Jordon.
Orson And Valentine is a darkly beautiful puppet play based on a medieval French folk tale that uses hand-crafted table-top and shadow puppets to recount, in miniature, the captivating story of infant twin brothers abandoned in the woods.
While one brother is adopted and brought up as an aristocrat, the other is raised by wild bears. Orson and Valentine grow up in very different worlds; unaware of each other’s existence, until the day of Prince Valentine’s first bear hunt…
Performed to an original score of live music, this is a dark tale of brotherhood and estrangement, betrayal and love, and the struggle between nature and civilisation. Orson And Valentine is a UK and Festival Fringe premiere written, designed and directed by Daisy Jordon and produced by Jake Spicer at The Brighton Life Drawing Sessions Studio, New England House.
Parental Guidance advised for under 16s.
21–24 April, 8-9pm Sat–Tue plus 2pm preview Sun. Free (donations). Meeting point for play: By Building Managers Office, New England House, New England Street, Brighton, BN1 4GH.
