» Review: Double Vision
Local dance/physical theatre diva Liz Aggiss is here teamed with director Charlotte Vincent in what was an intentionally uncomfortable discourse on the way that they each work. Vincent’s cerebral thread conflicting with the raw energy of Aggiss was provocative enough but in the end the joy of seeing Aggiss, totally comfortable with her being, performing a series of extraordinary pieces was the highlight of the evening, while the feminist cant seemed dated. In the second half, a scripted chat, entertaining enough, perhaps dissembled the impact of the actual performance. All that said, Aggiss is always worth the price of a ticket.
