» Review: New Act Night
Twelve good acts took to the stage with a confidence that never once gave away that this was, for many, their first time performing live comedy, never mind performing it to a packed room of hundreds of people downstairs at Komedia. With a good mixture of styles that varied from an extremely likeable jaded children’s entertainer to a charming off-duty drag queen, there wasn’t a weak link in the chain. Compere for the night was Rob Heeney, on truly excellent form, combining an endearing support for the new acts with wall-to-wall laughs all of his own.
