» Review of the week: Comic Boom
It was beautiful. The huge basement room in the Komedia was packed with supporters of new stand-up comedy. And what a fantastic night we had. Hilarious Murray Cummings and endearing Tim Watts did their first ever turn at the Komedia; Julie Jepson, Laura Mugridge, Joe Rowntree and headliner Nick Wilty made us roar with laughter; and Dan Allen stormed it with a deliciously deadpan set. But star of it all was compere, Seann Walsh. Charming, rousing and with a killer wit, we felt lucky to have him, and Comic Boom, all to our Brighton selves. A very special night.
