» Review: Poets Vs Rappers

‘A battle of rhymes between Brighton’s finest rappers and poets’; on paper the premise sounds utterly absurd but, in reality, it made for a brilliant and often hilarious showcase of the city’s talent. Now in its seventh year, Poets Vs MCs has become a legendary fixture on the Brighton cultural calendar, and this year’s was the best show to date. Some truly extraordinary performances from both teams made it very clear that, although the poets were voted the victors for 2010, Brighton’s wordsmiths – both poets and MCs – are onto a winning formula.

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton.
