The UK is going dance crazy and fiery show Tango Pasión will kindle a passion for tango

Strictly Come Dancing has much to answer for. It has given Bruce Forsyth yet another renaissance for sure. But more than that, it has kindled a passion for dance the like of which the UK has not seen since the demise of the great dance halls.

With almost every one of the Strictly… pros staging or dancing in a show somewhere, there is plenty of choice. They’re all out there strutting their stuff from Viennese waltz and jive to the very sexy Argentine tango.

Tango has become one of the hottest dance forms in the current craze, up there with salsa, but is the ballroom version in any way authentic? Find out when Tango Pasión arrives at the Hawth Studio in September.

The show has been created by the people who took Broadway by storm two decades ago with Tango Argentino. Choreographed by Hector Zaraspe, former tutor to Rudolf Nureyev and Dame Margot Fonteyn, the dancers will be accompanied by the live sounds of seven-piece orchestra, Tango Pasión Sexteto. This new production is one for lovers of fiery hot dance.

Tango Pasión, Wednesday 29 September, 8pm, The Hawth Studio Crawley, www.tickets.hawth.co.uk

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
