» SuperCharged celebrate 9 years of breaks and beats in Brighton

To celebrate 9 years of big beats, SuperCharged have two special events coming up:

Wednesday 27th August

SuperCharged 9th Birthday Warm-up Session
Sneaky b2b Adsorb

Super Charged
The clubbing institution that is SuperCharged turns 9 years old this month and to thank all of our regulars who come down, week after week, with smiling faces to get down to the best beats, this night will be completely free. All night long! Resident DJs Sneaky & Adsorb will provide the tunes and might well be joined by a special guest or two on the wheels of steel to help us celebrate.

Friday 29th August

SuperCharged 9th Birthday Party
With an Against The Grain label showcase

Against the Grain
To celebrate the fact that Brighton’s numero uno club night has now been running for 9 years, we’ll be throwing one of our infamous weekend parties to celebrate. SuperCharged will be taking over the Concorde 2, with Against The Grain artists, Krafty Kuts, the Freestylers and Deekline & Wizard, joined by Australian breaks champ Kid Kenobi.

And it wouldn’t be a SuperCharged party without our resident DJ Adsorb to warm things up, plus we have grime and dubstep in the bar to add an extra element for all of the beat freaks.

Anyone who reached the last ATG showcase will know that this is an event not to be missed and as it’s a birthday party you can expect lots of presents to be given out during the night.
Concorde 2, Madeira Drive, Brighton.
£11.50 in advance. 11.00pm – 4.00am

Audio, 10 Marine Parade, Brighton.
FREE. 10.30pm – 2.30am

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk

» Artists Open Houses

AOH Special: It’s Festival time in Brighton & Hove, which means the Artists Open Houses have opened their doors for another year! Maps of all the trails can be picked up across the city. We love nothing better than browsing and buying arts and crafts, and there is so much going on throughout May that we’ve made it easier by bringing the Artists Open Houses to you! We have 11 special programmes, featuring artists in their own houses. So here’s your chance to go ‘through the keyhole’ so to speak as we visit the artists in their own environment.
