» The Zone charity day

Colleagues of a barmaid who died from cancer are holding a charity day in her memory.
Nikki Andrews had worked at The Zone in St James’s Street, Brighton, for a couple of years before she was diagnosed with cancer.
Friends will hold the fundraising day on Sunday 26 April to mark the first anniversary of her death and raise money for the Martlets Hospice which cared for her.
Colleage James Carden said: “They really looked after her. This is to support them as they are a very local charity and they help out so many people. I don’t think they get as much appreciation as they deserve.”
From 11am to 11pm bar staff will organise games such as Call My Bluff, Deal or No Deal, Play Your Cards Right, a quiz, a raffle and karaoke.
Admission will be free of charge and customers will be asked if they want to make a donation.

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
