» Tipping
Commissioned by the venue to reflect ASBO culture and performed by a talented young cast, Tipping is the story of Raze’s return to his South East London stamping ground and best friend Gaz. Harrowing, repulsive and sympathetic – human nature is vilified and left with just a spark of hope in the form of Polish immigrant Deni. Addresssing old bad patterns, aspirations of escape and an increasingly bored and violent society, this is uncomfortable watching as Gaz explodes, trapping both of his fellow characters. Very well done but not for the faint of heart.

This was a well and cleverly scripted short play which revealed the misconception that growing up in a western culture necessarily makes for a happy and fulfilled childhood. the author was able to turn this on its head by the memories evoked of a polish immugrant by comparing the quality of his childhood experiences with the others.
The acting was superb with dynamic performances from all 3; Gaz especially displaying an harrowing and disturbed personality in a small theatre was particually noteworthy.
