All together now

Sixties society photographer Tom Murray had the unexpected honour of photographing The Beatles while they were in the middle of making The White Album. Invited to join Don McCullin, best known for his war photography, he was to assist in the photo shoot.

From two rolls of film there are 23 surviving shots – the shoot was so last minute andhectic that this collection of images has become to be known as the Mad Day Out.
For three decades these shots were unseen, but now all 23 images are being made available, and released over three volumes, as signed limited editions of 195 each.
Tony Murray: Mad Day Out, Naked Eye Gallery, until 30 September
