Vintage mania takes over Brighton at the ‘Frock Me! Vintage Fashion Fair’

Britain’s foremost vintage fashion event is the ‘Frock Me! Vintage Fashion Fair’ which descends on us once again on Sunday 6 June. The popular event is held five times a year at the Corn Exchange in Brighton as well as in Chelsea, London.
Stars including Kylie, Yoko Ono, Annie Lennox, Paul Smith, Sophie Dahl and Anna Friel have been spotted rummaging through the rails looking for vintage bargains, and many of the buyers for High Street chains slip in to get inspiration for next season’s catwalk creations.

Students quickly cottoned onto the fact that they could easily buy the original items quite often for less than the modern copies that followed and what started as a local little fair when Frock Me! began a little over six years ago has now become a national movement with spin-off vintage events popping up all over the country.

Frock Me! Vintage Fashion Fair, Corn Exchange, Brighton Dome, Sunday 6 June, 11am–5pm, £4, students with ID: £2, accompanied under 16s free,
020 7254 4054, www.frockmevintagefashion.com

» Brighton Lights 31

Our new programme for thelatest.tv sees Juice FM presenter Guy Lloyd investigate all manner of things. He starts off with chart-topping band The Hoosiers who were mega-successful a couple of years ago, were dropped by their major label and have become fashionably independent. Their chart-topping album cost £1 million to record, their new album £100 and we reckon it's just as good. We have exclusive footage of this new record. Guy does crazy-golfing with them, checks out their sound-check and witnesses the fans' adoration of the band at Audio in Brighton. In future shows Guy will be doing waxing, Dot Cotton, air guitar and needs your suggestions for more crazy things (or people) to do. Send to bill@thelatest.co.uk
