Nice Weather For Airstrikes Festival

Posted in Brighton Fringe, Latest 7, Music, Reviews, Under Review, Under Review

The NWFA label packed out The Druid’s Arms over three baking hot evenings for its annual free festival of left-field rock. Friday’s ‘secret band’, noise-punk trio Shapes, just beat hardcore headliners &U&I to gold medal place on day one. Saturday’s instrumental bill proved ridiculously popular, the bar reaching capacity long before acclaimed synths and drums outfit Three Trapped Tigers performed their rapturously received live electronics. The final day diversified into a more relaxed acoustic and alt-pop line-up; the hardy weekend survivors sent home with sweeping post-rock offerings from organisers Monsters Build Mean Robots and string-led guests Her Name Is Calla.
