Preston Circus Fire Station in Brighton is to hold an open day on Saturday 25 August.
Firefighters will be showing off some of their skills as they demonstrate how they deal with a car crash and what to with a chip pan fire.
Local families are being invited to take a close up look at the aerial ladder platform, other equipment and the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service “Black Museum”.
The fire bike will be on display along with a police bike – and staff will be giving information on road safety and advice on Bike Safe courses.
The mayor, Councillor Bill Randall, is expected to attend.
Station Manager Tony Gurr said: “We welcome everyone from our local community to come along and meet their local firefighters.
“It’s a good opportunity to see what they do every day and how they work to reduce fires, road traffic collisions and other emergencies in our city.”
