Brighton Pride 2012


The United Colours of Pride was the theme to this year’s Pride parade and festival held on Saturday 1 September. Festivities started with the annual parade in the morning and went on through the night with music from Fatboy Slim, fresh from his stint at the Olympics closing ceremony.

City In Bloom
On Wednesday 5 September, City In Bloom held their prize-giving ceremony at the Friends’ Meeting House. The competition attracted hundreds of entries from residents from all over the city. Deputy Mayor Anne Meadows, City In Bloom Chairman Paul Skelly and MC Simon Schneider (of TV’s Secret Dealers), handed out the awards to the winners. The ceremony was followed by a tea party, courtesy of Donatello.
