Bridget Christie – War Donkey

It was a night of good intentions but poor delivery at scatterbrain-Bridget Christie’s solo show ‘War Donkey’. The subject of the show was broadly based around feminism but unfortunately thoughtful insights were as rare as the sighting of a funny joke.

After a very jittery start, Christie found more success in the latter half with meatier topics, but the show generally fell flat. She failed to pack the punch needed – both comically and intellectually – to earn the big laughs. Given that Josie Long is playing a little later at the festival, you couldn’t help but feel this show was a bit like sloppy seconds.
