Comedy: Charity Chuckle Christmas Special

Good will, a fundraiser and plenty of jolly good times with a generous array of headline comics at Charity Chuckle

Placed firmly at the grand finale of Brighton & Hove’s table of events 16 Days Of Action To End Violence Against Women, Charity Chuckle has put together an awesome line-up of strong acts coming together to raise money for Brighton & Hove domestic violence charity, Rise UK, and rape crisis centre, Survivor’s Network. It’s pretty darn tootin’ impressive.

To be honest, it’s so impressive it’ll be a job to work out the running order as they’re all incredibly talented and funny (and really quite well known too!). So, in no particular order, those involved include Sara Pascoe, who you’ve probably seen on Live At The Apollo, TwentyTwelve and Stand Up For The Week. A regular on BBC Radio 4’s many comedy shows, as well as various TV panel shows also joining the line-up is Lucy Porter. As seen on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and shaking her stuff in Let’s Dance For Comic Relief is Katherine Ryan. And the always incredibly funny and lovely Zoe Lyons, as seen on The Michael McIntyre Roadshow and Mock The Week. There’s more.
Recently given her own BBC Radio 4 show, Miss London will also be there. Gráinne Maguire is currently likely to be riding high in the DVD charts featuring in Stewart Lee’s Alternative Comedy Experience – and a very welcome addition to this star-studded bill. Oh, and Birthday Girls will be there too, as seen on Live At The Electric. And magician Leon Simmonds.

It’s one humdinger of an assembly, for a very good cause, highlighting very important issues, at a most affordable price. And it’s Christmas. Just when every charity needs help the most – these two, sadly, may even get busier at this time of year. The perfect reason to put on your laughing hat and head out with your friends for a night of very good cheer. Merry Crimbo!
