The Space – Samira Ahmed and Alison Owen

This was the 70th Space event, at their newest venue, and Lisa Holloway’s first guest, freelance journalist and Celebrity Mastermind winner Ahmed, positively sparkled as she regaled us with her life story; from teenage recognition on Newsround, through reading English at Oxford alongside several Tory MPs to covering the OJ Simpson trial and battling predominately male editors on mainstream TV. High-profile film producer Owen shared her experiences of getting a movie made from script to release, hobnobbing with A-listers and ended with a brief chat about the pros and cons of being Lily Allen’s mum. A thoroughly entertaining and informative evening.
