Dynamic Space on feng shui creating positive energy in the home

Maria Green explains how feng shui can transform your life & create positive energy in the home

In Feng Shui what you face represents your future so your front garden (or your outlook if you don’t have a garden) will have an impact on your energy. With this in mind you wouldn’t choose to face a graveyard or a hospital as this isn’t positive energy. Interestingly, people who live opposite police stations tend to be well behaved. (I used to live opposite a pub but the less said about my alcohol consumption in those days the better!)

If you have a front garden – even a small piece of concrete – it’s worth giving it a little makeover; repair or disguise cracked concrete, drain covers and uneven plaster as this will affect the quality of the energy reaching your door. Even just a few pots of seasonal flowering plants will give the area a boost. Also, keep the bin away from the door as good energy doesn’t go near rubbish or dark or broken things.

You can take the macro/micro approach with this too and look to what you can do within your home. For example, the wall opposite your bed when you sit up in the morning can be used for images of what you want for your future. If you want a relationship then you could have an image of a couple here. If you want to live in a specific country then a picture of that place will focus your attention.

A client of mine wanted to emigrate to Australia but had a false start when the antique map she put opposite her bed didn’t have Australia on it!

If you share a room then ideally the image should ideally represent your mutual aims. This can be used for your work life too. Now in an ideal world you would sit with your back to a wall or screen facing into a room and somewhere in front of you there would be a board with your workplace goals or targets.

If you face a wall then in Feng Shui terms you are blocked. However, you can use the wall for images that reflect your goals. In an even more micro version you can keep the area of your desk centrally in front of you clear.
A word or warning though, a client of mine was keen to become a professional pilot but placed an image of a plane opposite her bed rather than opposite her desk – she ended up having a relationship with a pilot instead! Be careful what you wish for…
