Meet the experts at this year’s Eco Technology Show

Going eco

The third Eco Technology Show returns to the Brighton Centre on 26-27 June, with 140 exhibitors and a speaker line-up that offers practical information on how to install and use energy-saving technology – ideal for those involved in a self-build or a major renovation project.

There will be an extensive seminar programme covering legislation, funding and incentives, and major discussion points on energy, build, cities, transport and resource efficiency.

Highlights of the free seminar programme include:
• Eco celebrity Oliver Heath will present the benefits of eco refurbishment and energy assessment.

• Mischa Hewitt, Director, Low Carbon Trust will explain how to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient, and which technologies and solutions work.

• An update on the Government consultation to achieve zero carbon building standards by Martin Russell-Croucher, Director of Sustainability and Special Projects, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

• Cut through Government red tape for new build and refurbishment projects with the South East Centre for the Built Environment (SECBE).

• Understand how to reap the monetary benefits of energy efficiency for new builds and retrofits from Sean Twohig, Group Environmental, H&S, Risk Manager, Jurys Inn.

• A presentation on hybrid heating systems and how they can slash customers’ running costs by 20% by Keith Rule, Sales Director at Fond Nova UK.

The show’s exhibitors will demonstrate how optimum building and running cost savings result from a holistic view of a project, through investment in the right technology and low-carbon solutions for buildings, smart choices of building materials and even through to furniture design.

New ideas on building materials include “Econoblok” from Econovate Ltd. This lightweight load-bearing structural breeze block, with high thermal insulation performances, is made out of waste paper and cardboard diverted from landfills.

Newform Energy believes that the smart integration of different renewable energy technologies within a system means the individual components work more effectively. Using hybrid solutions, Newform Energy claims to be able to significantly reduce a building’s carbon footprint.

And Infrared Technologies claims to be able to save up to 50% on energy costs using infrared heating products such as infrared underfloor heating, ceiling and wall-mounted panels, designer glass panels and mirrors, frost prevention products and industrial heaters.

As well as showcasing energy technology, many exhibitors will also showcase cutting-edge design technology. Custom Carpentry, for example, will reveal a range of eco materials from around the world suitable for
eco-fitted furniture.

The Eco Technology Show will be open from 9.30am–5pm Thursday 26 June and 9.30am–4.30pm Friday 27 June. For further information or to register for free, go to www.ecotechnologyshow.co.uk.
