Brighton and Hove firefighters to strike again next month

Firefighters in Brighton and Hove have been called out on strike again next month.

They are taking industrial action as part if a long-running dispute over pensions with the coalition government.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that it had been notified of further strike dates by the Fire Brigades Union.

The strike is scheduled to take place for eight days from Saturday 9 August until Saturday 16 August between 12pm and 2pm and 10.59pm and 11.59pm each day.

Thr fire service said: “As in previous strike action, emergency cover will be provided by contingency crews made of non FBU members from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.”
