Archaeologists search for clues of Brighton 5,500 years ago

Archaeological experts have teamed up with community enthusiasts to discover more about life in Brighton 5,500 years ago.

The excavation is focussed on Whitehawk Camp on Race Hill.

Funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund grant, the aim is to find out more about Brighton’s first residents who founded one of Britain’s first farming communities.

The project is running until March 2015.
